A member of the Tangkas Specs club, Leonardus Jonatan Christie is an Indonesian badminton player specializing in the singles division. He won the 2024 All England Open men's singles championship, making him the current champion. Leong Jun Hao is a badminton player from Malaysia. At the 2017 Asian Junior Championships, he won the boys' singles division.

On Wednesday, October 16, in Odense, Jonatan Christie qualified for the second BWF Denmark Open 2024 round by beating Leong Jun Hao in badminton. In the beginning, Leong Jun Hao played well, but Jonatan Christie won, beat him, and won the game.

In the first game, Christie found it difficult to maintain control early on. In the early going, Malaysian opponent Leong Jun Hao took the advantage. But the fourth-seeded Christie won the opening game 21-16 after winning the previous five points in a row. For just 5 points, Jonatan beat Leong Jun Hao in the 2024 opening test.

Perhaps underscored by the game, the Indonesian performed better in the second game. Leong only led once in the second game, 1-0. Christie demonstrated the recent form that has carried him back up the world rankings.

The Indonesians gained the lead at 3-2 and never surrendered it. Eventually opening up a seven-point lead by the end to complete his 21-16, 21-14 victory in 43 minutes. He'll face Lu Guangzu in the last 16 on Thursday. The third-ranked player in the world needed some time to settle into his game before easily defeating his Malaysian opponent.

Jonatan Christie of Indonesia defeated Leong Jun Hao 21-16, 21-14. He beat him in the fourth seed of the second BWF Denmark Open 2024 round to maintain her title. Jonatan defeated the champion in back-to-back games in less than fifty minutes.

With the score tied at 8–10, Indonesia got off to a careful start before Jun Hao. Han gradually increased her lead in the second game before bridging the gap with five points in a row to 21-16 lead. Although Malaysia made one last effort, Jonatan’s successful march had already started.
