The Olympic Games is the only genuinely international, multi-sport, joyous athletics competition in the world. The Olympics are a global platform for competition, inspiration, and unity, with over 200 countries taking part in over 400 events throughout the Summer and Winter Games.
The IOC has selected Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics, d'Ampezzo for the 2026 Winter Olympics, Los Angeles for the 2028 Summer Olympics, and Brisbane for the 2032 Summer Olympics as the host cities for the future Olympic Games.
The IOC membership chooses the host cities, often seven years in advance. Approximately two years take throughout the selection procedure. Every city worldwide can apply to be a host city in the first phase.
